A Journey Through the Making – Jalan Besar Swimming Complex
- December 1952 – Original complex opened beside Jalan Besar Stadium, serving the central community.
- June 1978 – Facility underwent its first major renovation with upgraded filtration and seating.
- January 2011 – Redevelopment masterplan announced under Sport Singapore’s facility renewal plan.
- May 2013 – Groundbreaking ceremony that marked the start of modernization works.

How To Go There
By Bus:
Direct buses: You can take the bus services No: 13, 23, 64, 65, 66, 67, 125, 130, 139, 147 or 857 and alight at St. Wilfrid Sports Complex (stop 07359) or Before Tyrwhitt Road / Lavender Street (stop 07351).
Both stops are within a 3–5 minute walk to Jalan Besar Swimming Complex.
By MRT:
From Lavender MRT Station (EW11 / East-West Line):
Alight at Lavender MRT Station, take Exit A, and walk approximately 5 minutes (≈ 400 m) along Tyrwhitt Road toward Jalan Besar Stadium.
By Car:
Via PIE / CTE through Lavender Street or Kallang Bahru:
Turn into Tyrwhitt Road and follow the signs toward Jalan Besar Stadium / Swimming Complex.
The entrance is beside the stadium, directly opposite at the St. Wilfrid Sports Complex.
Parking:
Public parking is also available next to the Jalan Besar Stadium (open-air carpark via Tyrwhitt Road).
Additional parking can be found at Aperia Mall and CT Hub, both within a 10-minute walk.
Charges apply at standard rates, approximately about $0.60 per 30 minutes under HDB parking.
